I think they would have to go back to where her and her mom were. Even then, it sounds like they lived separate from the community of their kin for various reasons that I forget now.

thanks for the chapter!

also hilarious that a. the mantis and partner are invited and b. dude got the whole date wrong; probably with no hotel plans
maybe Kiri should turn into a mantis and jump to the location

I have a feeling that some people are misreading the last panel... Haneda's shout wasn't about Taya's birth, it was about the next train from this station) They are implied to be in the middle of nowhere)

Also, giving birth on a rabbit island under the eyes of a rabbit nun... o_o
I doubt it's about the next train from that station. They are already at their destination. I'm guessing it was about their planned meet-up day, since it looks like Taya and family are still at home.

And they aren't in the middle of nowhere, they in front of Tadanoumi station, there's a town there, with plenty of lodging and food options.

They wanted to go island-hopping. Probably missed the ferry.

Why do you say they wanted to go island hopping?
And if they were planning to, why wait until arriving to look up the times online? If they were going to wait that long anyway, you'd think they would have found out when they got to the ferry.

Well, the RL Tadanoumi station is a proper station in the urban area (though, it's unattended), while in the panel it's really looking like a platform in the middle of the rural nowhere, but I checked now and it seems the station really looks like that IRL. In the Wikipedia you can see this very info stand on the left. Also, in the previous chapters they told explicitly that the auntie lives in the boons. Still I prefer to think that this derpy idiot couple is just lost or they needed a bus from the station and missed it)

I believe Taya's mom had a particular vision for the wedding, and she wanted something traditional. So for whatever reason they haven't gotten around to doing that, probably because they were very confused with how Taya's pregnancy was going to proceed. That said, they are engaged so I'm surprised that's not sufficient. Or at least they could do the paperwork part of the marriage to get it registered with the gov even if they want to do the ceremony later. I know several people IRL who did it that way.
I would be surprised if it  was sufficient. Anybody can say that they're engaged; marriage in Japan is a legal status that is documented by the government.

If there is a benefit that is reserved for married people, you will not dispense it using a system that allows unmarried people to claim something that isn't theirs.

These are not the people who said they wanted to go island hopping. Taya's mom said that and it didn't look like she had discussed it with anyone.
... You're right. I need to reread at least the last score of chapters.
