Well the phone thing is weird. Which is weird itself. The weird should already be kind of covered by one of the main characters having to worry about knocking herself up with a wet dream, tossing in mysterious cell phone shenanigans that make it sound like the father is stalking her is like putting even more icing on a finished cake.
I don't really get the whole "bad at cooking" thing in manga. Someone inexperienced is more likely to make mistakes, sure, but as long as you're at least trying to follow the recipe most cooking is pretty hard to fuck up. You literally just follow the instructions.
