Jesus that ending is so sudden it'll give you whiplash. Going to assume that the manga got the axe and given no time to wrap it up. Maybe HiromixMako was always the endgame for the mangaka but there was no time to develop it, and the aliens angle was really dumb no matter how you look at it.

It wasn't entirely undeveloped, I saw it coming and all even minus the super goddamn obvious volume cover by the time I got here. But yeah, still abrupt. I agree, they probably got told to wrap things up and had to do what they could in limited time. Can't say I blame them for axing it if that's how it went down though, the story had some promise but much of it was overshadowed by glaring faults and poorly pieced together bits of the story. It's pretty disappointing really.

I knew they were going to be together, I just didnt see all the hoops and hurtles. I knew she was super human but didnt expect an Alien. Well good ending I guess, would have loved to see their relationship develop as lovers a bit more.
