I still don't get what flagged them for such a thorough check.
One would think that in China, especially in less industrialized areas, there would be plenty of cases of people being born with no proper documentation.

Tbh I think it's the total lack of records that's suspicious at first, like maybe she's trying to hide something or someone making a new identity?

Then the blood check brought that there's not even a little clue to her ancestry which only made it even more insane . (And probably suspicion from first thing just got carried over)

You can't tell anything about ancestry without DNA test and a comprehensive DNA database, which even China doesn't have.

Anyway, it's all already resolved in the very next chapter so the author just wanted to throw a sprinkle of anxiety in there.
