thanks for picking this up lol

hm, i feel like 'folding' your skirt by lifting it up/tucking it in versus like an oversized shirt to hide the top part would just make it look unflattering (if not ruin it tho i guess they are meant to be worn daily if the JP students out there don't have like 7 versions of the same uniform they switch out between laundry days lol) versus short, unless your legs are 'flashy' enough to get the attention versus a skirt being bunched up (i'm sure a lot of girls like wearing cute skirts as uniforms but if a skirt is gonna be a part of a uniform to begin with i'm surprised they don't give you maxi skirts so ppl can't get away with making it too short or just give you the alternative of wearing pants/sports bottoms/jerseys)

(did she not put on a sports bra or even regular bra when she changed into her uniform or was it stolen from her lol, although i guess a bra only goes so far with her size but if she's aware she was gonna participate than i'd expect there to be specific outfits for it)

You know what people calls "the ick"?

Japan has something even worse. Kaeruka gensho.

And how is it worse? A few weeks ago, a Tokyo TV channel did interviews about the topic, and the examples people gave were as simple as "I didn't like the way how my partner was looking for me in the food court" and "I didn't like the way my partner pedals the bike," among other equally stupid reasons.

That's Japanese youth for ya, lmao.

Crushes come and go pretty easily i assume that's just part of being a teen lol

Although i think yumis cells (korean webtoon) had an opposite effect chapter where her 'inner' cells were trying to look for flaws in her new love interest and him being sick/sniffling his nose made her blush/made her even more down bad lol

Why is that MF wearing a fucking fundoshi under his pants?! :kek:
lol that implies they still regularly produce it for ppl to buy (outside of traditional festival ceremonies where they're lifting that thing or whatever), rather than it being some 'inherited' thing from his grandfather (which would be grosser to wear lol)

The folding thing, where the more you fold the higher the skirt gets, is something that was mentioned in several manga/anime, I remember seeing it in Watamote (ch 148) and in Sound Euphonium (forget the episode, but it was in 1st season), so it's probably real thing. I think it's because they have to be ready to unroll it in case teacher gets on their case like she did in Euphonium, and they can't actually buy shorter skirts than their school regulations. It's part of the struggle of fashion/looks vs school regulations, that why it sounds weird at first, but makes more sense when you consider the practical restrictions. It might look less flattering then your version of oversized shirt (EDIT I dont't even think they're allowed to wear shirt over skirt to hide the top, it's probably against the tidy and proper look regulations. I'm pretty sure I've seen boys getting scolded for not tucking in their shirts in pants as rule violation in manga/anime), but it lets you show more of the leg than allowed, which probably feels much more sexy since it's also rebellious.

Also real Japanese school skirts seem pretty long to me already, and I really doubt that any girl could get away with almost butt length in IRL school. The Euphonum scene seemed pretty realistic, the strict teacher noticed even few centimeters shorter skirts, like you could maybe see bit of their knees? and gave them a lecture just for that. Felt weirdly Victorian to me, like "Oh she's so slutty, you can see her ankle" thing.

Highschool girls folding up the waistband of their skirt seems to be a pretty universal thing wherever there are girls, and school uniforms requiring skirts. It was definitely a thing while I was at school, and I have definitely seen it among school girls today (though not to the frankly obscene extent I recall from my youth).

As for Japanese school skirt lengths, the lengths have changed through time and between schools for different reasons. If you've ever read "delinquent" manga, you'll come across the old trope of delinquent girls with extremely long skirts. This was a real thing, and school regulations changed in many places to enforce shorter skirts as a result. Meanwhile as shorter skirts became fashionable, and girls obviously took that to extremes, so then did regulations change to enforce longer skirts. Girls are just like that.

makes sense i guess, tho other than girls only schools or the 'upper class' private schools i'm surprised they wouldn't just like wear a full dress as opposed to just a skirt and top tho i suppose you could adjust those if you really wanted to. tho id' be more worried about it fitting in my waist (tho i guess in animanga other than the 'fat chara relief' all the girls are drawn fairly skinny, tho hopefully new ones are easier to get /resize b/c it'd be sucky if it felt super tight/cut off circulation if you gained like five pounds, tho i would just wear my own clothes on my off time b/c it'd be a pain to get stares from creepy teachers and teenage boys)

Tho I have seen vids that's like "how to tie a seifuku ribbon", i guess it would come apart in the washing machine depending, but other than it being 'cute' or a specific one to a school, i wonder if they're actually functional b/c i imagine most ppl wouldn't untie it on purpose in school usually if they follow the rules versus "adjusting it/not tying it too tight will make the top more comfortable for your chest" or so (tho i think i've seen in a gsnk bonus part where they could choose between a bow and a tie for the schoolgirl tops)

...I don't think those people were ready for romantic relationships...
i mean it is a gen z term, so that's like what, middle school age? Tho i guess it's good if you get through it as tweens/teenagers or so b/c it'd be sucky if that kinda stuff like ended marriages a week in lol

I mean, I've seen young adults talking about and listing things as icks, and it isn't the concept of icks that bothers me, it's just when really minor things are treated as a whole sin
