Party leader has the highest credits for achieving their goal, so party members tend to have lower level compared to goals they achieved. It's not a big problem in normal party where leaders are the strongest, but in Strange Grief, members should do level 8 tier quest without leader's support. So members in Strange Grief is WAY stronger than other party led by level 8 hunter. Each of them deserve 1 level higher than they currently have. (Except Sitry who got level penalty)

Arc is the leader of other party and he can become level 8 if he wants to. However Arc thinks he doesn't have enough achievement to become same level as Cry, who encounters world-ending crisis every month.

Basically for strange grief members, except for Lucia and Anthem, the others are a menace to society if not handled correctly, hence the lower rank evaluation compared to their real skill lvl. MC meanwhile is lvl 8 because as you previously see, he is called Infinite Variety due to dumb luck or Barrier Ring (i.e finite plot armor) favoring him like he is some sort of heavenly mastermind.

Liz is a troublemaker so her level being 6 makes sense.

Sitry is level 2 because of all the penalty from the prisoners disappearance incident. The only reason she isn't in the jail right now is because the authorities doesn't have enough evidence for the allegations.

Arc is also an 8 he's the strongest in the capital after all.

I think Ark is only 7 - for now at least. I know the anime labels him as lvl 7 in the first episode.

Other thoughts: Gark was level 7 when he retired and we see him fighting evenly with Liz. But, he's stated to be weaker now from a lack of dungeoning (no mana material absorption).

Krai said a few chapters ago that the members of the top parties in the clan are almost all Dragon Slayers. Grievers killed many dragons including a thunder dragon that Krai ate. Sven (lvl 6) also said he's fought a lot of dragons and would rather take one on over fighting a slime 😆. So, I'm thinking rather than the Grievers being under-leveled (not counting Sitry's pitiful lvl 2), the Thunder Dragon slayer might be over-ranked compared to his actual strength/achievements - especially since it was a town effort and he earned level 7 while in the boonies.

6 is already incredibly high and anthem is a 7. Sitry got downgraded because the level isn't really just how strong they are it's how much they're trusted and you have 2 psychopaths and a mad scientist on their team. Plus keep in mind it's barely been a few years since they formed their guild
