that sounds like conjecture, specially with their conviction rate
let me elaborate further:
it's not that I don't think they go unreported; my point is that it's probably the case everywhere
so if you were to adjust the numbers everywhere (higher), they would still be the lowest in JP
saying that it ONLY goes unreported in Japan, that's conjecture
So you're saying you're fighting that "crime rates in Japan aren't higher than anywhere else counting for unreported inflation"
You have fallen into your own trap. This too is conjecture.
Also poorly deflecting
Secondly, the conviction rate isn't some solid evidence. It only counts cases that
made it to trial.
THIRDLY what an interesting blend of fate that I listened to a report that blended BOTH of these topics and trounces your conjecture:
"In June 2018, the BBC broadcast a
documentary called Japan’s Secret Shame, a distressing tale of sexual violence toward women pegged to the experience of Ito Shiori."
"...
Victims of sexual assault in Japan are even less likely to tell the police than elsewhere; fewer then 5% of Japanese women officially report
rape..."
"Less than a third even talk about it to friends or relatives, according to a 2014 Cabinet Office
survey. Campaigners say the actual numbers of rapes and sexual assault far exceed the roughly 1,300 cases sent to prosecutors per
year. "

This is a Cambridge article that basically details the whole radio story ad verbatim. With sources.
But TLDR you're right the the conviction rate is high, wrong on so much else
