honestly the fact she seems to have become friends with Asahi elevates her in my mind quite a bit.

I'm in agreement that she shouldn't be an actual romance option for our ML, but I am very glad that the author went the direction of her actually growing closer to the FL, instead of just perpetuating her demeanor and behavior from her introduction.

As soon as they mentioned the anchor's task at the start I knew where this was going, haha
Having Asahi choke right at the end was foreseeable, but it does build into her character and how she really perceives herself - someone who doesn't fit in, who messes up, and informs her bratty, combative behavior with Ryou as "masking" her own insecurities.
I'm hoping he picks her as "a friend he likes" at the very least, and not one of his guy friends from his anime club - it would give them both a chance to build Asahi back up after her tumble and give her some confidence back, while affirming that he actually does care about her. It's a prime moment for just that sort of situation, at any rate.
