Ehhh. The two ships he was shown on were both heavy cruisers, which are only 1-2 steps down from battleships in terms of capability and size. Even worse, the classes were of an Aoba-class at first, which was an older design, and a Takao-class, which was newer. Both of these classes were entirely sunk in the war, with only one Takao-class resurfaced for the purpose of target practice after the war.
