This needs a harem tag. Unless there's a thrupple/poly tag out there. Or does the manhwa differ from the novel?

i'm amazed how wuxia stories all manage to be the most previsible, boring power fantasy story format EVERY FUCKING TIME.
it has it all.

it's set in a society of castes and the MC is a bastard of the strongest man of the pyramid.
Inbred sect full of bad and ugly people that will die and get mutilated trying to beat the übermench MC.
the token homo.
the token genderbent woman, shielded by plot.
the token, over enthusiastic weak ass companion.
the school arc with it's usual absurd challenges and infighting, because killing, mutilating and expelling it's own students is 100% what a military force needs to develop to become dominant.
power through chemistry. seems chinese really like the idea of eating exceptionally stinky pills.
Did i mention that the mc is the one out of 500 years best martial artist thanks to a technology powered mac guffin given to him in the first goddamn chapter, that has access to an insane amount of data, can 3d scan structures out of the lad's retinas and see through walls, detect lying, yet somehow you need to read old ass books to make the mc wuxiapool?

the fact that you know, chapter 1, that he wont die till his goals are met?
f*ing everything.

turn off your brain and get your dose of mildly well drawn slop. you're not going to get challenged with this.

Man i did a mistake turning off the wuxia filter.

almost as if they are all just following the same power fantasy as usual isekai's, lets be real here, you wont find a real good gem that breaks the mold for these kind of genres too often, they find what works, and continues to stick with it until its milked dry.

Pretty much just a power fantasy revenge story, that devolves into introducing a random person for the main character to either cut the arm off of or kill within two chapters.

right now I have read this until chapter 170 and Ive gotta say, it’s pretty ehhh okay, generic power fantasy bs. Dont know why it’s so highly rated.
Also the nano machine concept in ancient china is kinda interesting, well at least until
the typical time skip moment that always occurs in Wuxia story. After that the machine don’t really have an appearance anymore, not even a full length dialogue. So I just keep reading, waiting for any type of conflict that will make the mc struggle again but nope, constant ego riding cause from there he will always overpowered anyone by just looking at something. It’s a shame really, the original concept is kinda good but I guess normal people just like the typcial op mc more. At first when reading this I hope that the story will focus more on the nanomachine side like figuring out who’s the descendants, how to replicate this technology etc but after the time skip it just becomes generic
Keep in mind, also spoiler,
at first when you read this you might be rooting for the mc but later2 on he isn’t really a good person, just like a normal leader of something, cough cough politicians, very manipulative. Also wouldn’t really mind killing innocents outside his sect just to reach his goal which is fine really cause not every story needs to be about a good person. But like no one around him want to even question his decision like what… All of them are pretty much one dimensional type of character which is saddening considering before the time skip, there’s actual character development here and there for the sides. Aint no way a sect as big as his wouldn’t doubt his decisions even once.
I might drop this after reaching ch 200 or wait a few months until there’s a few hundred chapter to binge when bored cause right now there isn’t really any substance to this story except constant dick sucking moment

Said it best really.
Considering he literally have a supercomputer in le head, the mc have an extreme tunnel vision cause he only wanna use that shit for martial arts bs.
Could have been an interesting story if it focus more on the nanomachine side like how to utlizie nano to modernise the sect instead of the typical, do this get revenge go kills, type of story it turns out to be

if this is what gets 9* i worry for the rest of wuxia novels
what an absolute waste of time
other people have already talked about the numerous failures of writing this story is steeped in so ill just mention that the protagonist is plainly not a decent person
not in the "gray morality" type not-good, they just propagate the exact sufferings they suffered and even vowed to stop
for example,
person requests mc to save daughter. mc breaks in to compound, kills the entire compound, turns out one of the captors was her husband (they never talked to her beforehand). the mc then kills the daughter, lies to the requester that he'll "take revenge" and goes on with his day
he also seems to have a penchant for sparing/using the strong and slaughtering the weak, exactly like the cycle that caused his pain
also really cool "morally justified rape" subplot (as of ~60 chapters after, the girl is not mentioned a single time, only her dad that mc got as an ally for raping her)
