It's unclear even in the LN: she approached him originally with just the proposal to date and quickly added the fake part. Even in her internal monologue, there's some vagueness, her embarrassment over the entire situation making her scream silently rather than, say, only the bit where she's hastily ensuring he thinks it's just a cover.

She definitely wanted to be proactive in having him leave his cocoon alongside her -- for him to approach his potential, for her to have her rock beside her when she's overwhelmed...and just maybe something else.

Toiro said "i already asked them to leave us alone for a while so i could get to know you" they they blew that opportunity. and its never been stated that she likes him or explicitly shown. but reread the first chapter it kinda looked like she spouted "wanna go out with me" on a whim and panicked with the fake thing. but that just means she doesnt know she likes him yet. same for him i think.
