Some scanilation group add a image/poster at the first page of a chapter like

".... Manga chapter 3,4,5, is already added on our website"

I am a new to scanilation and mangadex uploads policy and rules. So please admins tell me if I can do this or not😅

Disclaimer: not a mod or staff or anything else.

From the Discord, indirectly:
Paywall -> Nuke
Coins -> Nuke
"Sub for better quality images" -> Nuke
"Up to chapter X on Y" -> Nuke
Infinite delay -> Group unlock + GL removal to avoid locking
Has "support us" links to third party monetisation websites (e.g., Ko-fi, Patreon, Buymeacoffee, etc.) but no paywall of any kind -> Mean stares but allowed
Based on point 4, if it was me, I don't think I'd do this.

For reference, here are the terms (5.2.22 is worth noting) and here are the guidelines. I would suggest reading both and then checking the scanlator discussion subforum to see if any questions you have are answered there (and to ask any that aren't - that way the answers you get are also there for the next person). The support channel on the Discord is also a good place to visit.

You can use a credits page either at the start or the end of the chapter where you include information of the group such as a link/QR code to your webpage, but if you're using MangaDex as an advertisement site for a pay-to-read scanlation site or directly restricting the availability of some chapters indefinitely the mods will have no doubts in issuing a ban. Put it simple, as long as chapters on MangaDex and your website are both available anytime there shouldn't be problems. Keep it simple with a "you can also read it here". Of course, no aggregators allowed.

"Up to chapter X on Y"

You see this on quite a few credit pages, tbh.
Yes, and later in the thread I linked to is this:

Bullet 3 makes it seem like a limited time of having a chapter on a group site before posting to MD is okay, but the point from my prior post seems clear that mentioning that in the chapter is not. If it was me I'd err on the side of caution and simply keep MD current.

Well, that's the answer to someone who unmistakanly broke the rules and had some kind of restriction applied. In other words, an ultimatum for someone who:
  • Adds too many unrelated pages.
  • Many chapters have never been uploaded.
  • From now on there's a fixed schedule for that user/group (to make them comply).
  • The user is making profit with those non-uploaded chapters illegitimately.
In other words, not someone who has an open-access webpage as backup.

I agree. It's probably just something that is under reported because who wants to report a group of a manga you read, get them kicked off MD, and then have to read stuff on their website when all is said and done anyway? Defeats the purpose. A better punishment would be removal of group upload restrictions so anyone can upload their releases.
