That one releases weekly and it's super popular, so we had to release the chapters as soon as they came out since there was a high chance of us getting sniped if we delayed the releases. And Negai is a bit tricky to CLRD according to my mate, apparently. And we're mainly just a 2-men team (with me as the JTL and my mate doing the rest) with 2 CLRDs and 1 JTL helping every now and then, so please bear with us. Male or female; if a side character is actively wanting the MC out of the picture and takes up pages with their fantasies, thirsting after the FMC, when their personality is passable at best, they're annoying and I'd rather not see them anymore. At least, that applies to most characters like this. This one hasn't fallen into that territory yet, but she is on the cusp.

Male or female; if a side character is actively wanting the MC out of the picture and takes up pages with their fantasies, thirsting after the FMC, when they're personality is passable at best, they're annoying and I'd rather not see them anymore. At least, that applies to most characters like this. This one hasn't fallen into that territory yet, but she is on the cusp.

That's like saying a romance story should not have any competition whatsoever,more so competition that is flawed as such to show that the original choices can make it despite being inferior in several ways.

It is,in fact,such competition that is the whole reason most romance stories even begin,because there's no progress in keeping the status quo(childhood friends are this)nor is their a common hurdle to overcome(the outgoing who wish to woo one of the two),lacking these will result in a story where literally nothing of note happens,no changes in relationships due to no friction nor fluidity,just a slice of life story where they spend their whole lives as acquintances.

I'd rather see more of them in vast variety taking up plenty of pages,both in their own scheming fantasies and their asses duking it out with the main choices.

Voila,competition,the path to success and maintaining success is not without hurdles,and simply removing the hurdles makes for a boring story,if it can even be a story.

As much as I don't want to indulge you, I'll just say this: even if you're right regarding competition, there are ways to write that and have it be interesting. A character like this is not interesting, just annoying. This isn't even competition, like what you're claiming, because she has no chance. You say that like anyone has any chance outside of the obvious two that an artist will choose,rarely has an artist not railroaded the outcome from the very start if they manage to reach far enough into their story.

She is not overstaying her welcome,her delusions are hilarious in comparison to her public image,and she has no idea about how little she'll actually achieve due to Helvi knowing it all,meaning the exact moment she finds out all was for nought will be a grand disaster for her.

Double standards in society that rarely ever get dealt with?,yeah,that happens.

Skinship in females being a massively common trope in Jap animated entertainment media of nearly all kinds?,obviously,it's been +40 years of that stuff.

It's not about forgiving n' forgetting lesbians(just that about six or so comment sections I've seen so far have had people ham against even side lesbian couples minding their own damn business),it's about accepting the fact that hurdles exist in romance stories in order to allow the main protagonists actual growth in their story.
