Sometimes I wonder why these types of mangas get my blood boiling more so than some well done action anime. Only thing I can think of which made me just as angry was season 1 of shield hero.

Maybe it's just a side of effect that makes readers overprotective?

We are protective. The writer deliberately gives us this cute couple, who are perfectly happy together, and then introduces an ugly bastard to interfere with their relationship.

So now we want to see him destroyed.

It's a fairly common trope in this style of story, but it's common because it works.
