What happens to them later basically feels more fitting! In Ex's case, her new man ISN'T better then MC as se let herself believe, the ground work for the END of her fantasy is that he NEAR DERAILED his career trying to play along with fucking with MC in some pathetic unnecessary show of "differences of status" that MC won only because she was a TERRIBLE GF who REALLY believed she deserved a top tier man, despite being SUPER DISTANCE with him! Something tells me when he was starting out, even back then when she was NICE she still wanted to keep her options open and if not for the Receptionists MEDDLING she'd have likely not shot herself in the foot
Basically for Ex, the start is from her Job, something she desired working at for so long! Funny thing is, as she was IGNORANT to the QUALITY of places MC brought her to, so TOO was she ignorant to the fact MC was kind of the reason she GOT THAT JOB IN THE FIRST PLACE! The Owner wanted to make a connection with him because they were aware of who he really was! So once they discovered what happened do to her antics and she was WORKING for them (Pointless now since she went from a "connection to Zero" to now "Someone who made an ENEMY of the Legend for no good reason!") So was quick to "Fire and Blacklist her from the Business!" (Doesn't THAT look familiar, technically she didn't do anything WRONG per say, but her actions towards a client even if Ex is in the same vein of a "Karen beating someone near to death or acting racists PUBLICALLY while wearing her work clothes!" At first she is about as shocked as her Ex was when she pulled what she did so "yeah for some karma" but since she married the asshole, or close to, she basically decided she'll make the "SAHW" thing work
She's TERRIBLE at it, at first the asshole finds it charming, but her spending habits and his ego FINALLY make him snap at her and the marriage already starts going to hell (Even without him getting TRANSFERED into a DEAD END position, they only knew each other for a short time, even her PARENTS had reservations beyond how she broke up with MC out of the blue and was ready to marry a guy she JUST INTRODUCED THEM TOO and knew for a short time. His insults and snips at her "uselessness and being a spendthrift" (because remember he still has a superiority complex towards those he views as LOWELY to him, and that includes HER because he's also still feeling RESENTMENT as said for his idiocy back in Chapter 1 that he's blaming on BOTH girls and not at ALL acknowledging his fault in it other then "he wouldn't have acted as he did or even DATED the Ex if he had known who MC was, though as said, the story COUNTS on her being such a TERRIBLE GF, "trying to paint HIM/MC as the terrible BF even though she's noting ALOT of her bad self-centered behavior", it's chalked up to her parents treating her like a Princess, something they attribute to her BAD DECISION regarding her treatment of MC hence they do have remorse when they see her near ruin her own life making hasty short sighted choices because she's seeing the IMMEDIATE and "SHINE" and not "everything behind the curtain!") causes her to get DESPERATE to make some additional money
So basically she does some "Adventuring!" Basically there is a means to do some MINOR work without a License in the entry level of the dungeon as long as one stays in large groups, but because of lack of MAJOR oversight.....well it's also a breeding ground for ACTUAL Criminal Adventurers to target "hapless fools" like the Ex who make the mistake of NOT doing this with a trusted group as doing it with Rando's is a recipe for trouble, but she's underestimating the dangers because well she USE to admire adventurers in school, it's how she approached MC in the first place that lead to their relationship, but it became ALL TAKE on her end where he did everything to satisfy her, but her "MISTAKING her Immaturity for Maturity", It mostly just ended up looking like "friends or better acquaintances more then lovers" on her end as you know her DISTANCE with MC even before this and her starting her career made her start to forget that admiration, especially when the Receptionist and later Assface put the anti shit into her head that she started to think she was "too good for MC" and deserved a "REAL MAN!" Hence her actions (It's mostly showing how she doesn't THINK before she acts so SURE of herself, and remember she had ISSUES noting IMPORTANT DETAILS after all! Like never ONCE visiting MC home, or telling him to take her to OTHER PLACES, or getting the places he WAS taking her were places she PREVIOUSLY said she liked and WERE top tier locations someone like her NORMALLY wouldn't get into to if she paid attention, but guessing Assface took her to FANCY LOOKING places that she ASSUMED it showed his quality, since she assumed a "BBQ" place is OBVIOUSLY low working class and of course not taking how DANGEROUS even the "SAFE" parts are...she really isn't very smart now is she!)
This gets her PREYED ON by a Trio. Two guys, one woman, and the woman is a NASTY one, a girl who USE to be BULLIED by flashy girls like EX back in school and since her "Friends" love to RAPE any females they prey on before they kill them to make it look like "they slipped up and a monster got them" she LOVES watching THAT specifically for girls like Ex, hell it's treated VERY seriously and luckly she avoids the rape, but gets caught in Monster Stampede and well would have died if MC hadn't been there for something else unrelated to her, finding her DYING was by PURE coincidence and LUCK on her end
Basically she is BADLY scar-ed in the face, and Assface, well he takes that moment to insult her at the Hospital RIGHT as she woke up from her coma, air out the dirty laundry and while she's been TRYING to make it work, he's been STEWING in resentment at her and anything he could make up in his head on how NONE of this is his fault! Even tells her that her FACE was the only "REDEEMABLE" thing about her and the only reason he BOTHERED dating her to "Stealing her" when the Receptionist "Set them up" and now that she doesn't have THAT, he's DONE! She doesn't resist and it's a CRUEL wake up call she made the WRONG choice in deserting and mistreating MC as she did, replacing hiim again "with someone she only knew for a SHORT TIME" along with being a TERRIBLE GF! Best part, MC left an EXPENSIVE potion for her that would cure her face. A last "gesture" of good will from him, but otherwise something "he might have done if it had been someone ELSE in her position" that's how she sees it because after what she pulled, she has no right to even be EXPECTING goodwill from an ex she did DIRTY in the past!
She divorces, goes back to her parents, cries a little then becomes an Adventurer SERIOUSLY! Basically it's around this time she REMEMBERS her school years and PREVIOUS admiration for MC and his profession. Sees it as a "POSER" who was interested in MC because he was "doing something she was CURIOUS about" then actually getting to KNOW HIM (the classic "remember his good traits once she finally WOKE UP from the Cheaters Fog when cheaters try to JUSTIFY their betrayal of their partner by any means, even MAKING UP SHIT to lower the GUILT of betrayal!) and she does pretty good. Parents dislike her getting into it because well "she just divorced, was depressed, and doing a job they didn't like!" They didn't hate it with the BAD PRESS to Adventurers, just the "death rate" it's why as much as they were DISAPPOINTED with her treatment and break up out of the blue and Infidelity on MC! They still felt a "office worker" was a far better partner then someone who MIGHT die any day in such a "dangerous profession!" (Though she got something WORSE then possibly being a Widow, getting betrayed, cheated on and DUMPED, yeah forgot to mention he brought up his AFFAIR PARTNER when he was dressing her down to! It's another reason other then being exhausted that she didn't fight back, she was "only getting what she put MC through!" Basically she finally acknowledged she "made a critical mistake" in judging assface compared to MC, throwing away a GOOD loyal man for a man who WILLINGLY went into an AFFAIR with her, she was so STUPID to think that would work out for her!)
She later is VERY disappointed with Assface when he commits a major crime she's brought in to deal with on his "Affair Partner" in the future, well EX as I will explain in HIS SPOILERS Next! More disappointed FURTHER on how she EVER saw anything REDEEMABLE or BETTER then MC in him! Basically it's being a girl who fell for Playboy's and then becoming a woman and seeing JUST how pathetic they are.....and how pathetic your YOUNGER self was for falling for such OBVIOUS bullshit!
