I really rather dislike that he just threw money at the problem instead of asserting that Karen wasn't responsible for her parent's debts. I also really dislike that he didn't confirm anything about the payment so if they really wanted to (as they implied) they can just claim the debt still hadn't been paid as no papers were signed at the time of payment.
It's actually a crime to abandon parents and other blood relatives (this is why you see uncles/aunts in manga take in kids even though they hate them and want nothing to do with them; the family is legally obligated, and it is usually pushed onto the one that the rest of the family can pressure). Japanese law does not allow the relationship between biological parents and biological children to be severed.

https://laws.e-gov.go.jp/law/129AC0000000089#Mp-At_877 [直系血族及び兄弟姉妹は、互いに扶養をする義務がある。] "blood relatives and brothers and sisters are obliged to support each other." Article 877, Paragraph 1 of the Civil Code. [第八百八十一条 扶養を受ける権利は、処分することができない。] "The right to receive support cannot be disposed of." Article 881, Paragraph 1 of the Civil Code.

Article 896 also notes that heirs inherit all rights and obligations, so any legal debt they incur is passed down to biological children if the parent dies; there is a provision for renouncing inheritance especially when debts exceed value of inheritance, however, but few people are aware of it and the social pressures often cause them to accept the debt, after which point they are then legally liable.

TL;DR: He did the right thing.
It was done in public with many witnesses, including government employees and likely security footage, so they could not weasel out of it being paid, either (nor would they want to, because they are aware of his identity).

yeah, lets go find our beloved daughter whom we abandoned and ask her to come with us back, BUT WAIT! that's not all, let's also ask her to sell her body to pay off our debts and be hapily reunited on the spot, thats definitely the most heartwarming reunion ever!!! :haa:
What loving parents indeed 😊

I can't help but laugh at this chapter. His ex-girlfriend dumped him because of money. Here, he throws 100 million yen like it's nothing.:dogkek:
If she just talked to him, he could've just cheaped out and got something she truly appreciated. Afterall, the expensive stuff goes over her head.

Someone finally recognized him and its a career criminal lmao.

Also why are you throwing money at the human traffickers? There is being conflict averse and there is being a complete failure as a human being with enough power to move a country. He does have some missing screws up there.

Yeah they are messed up and it's definitely doesn't seem like the last time we will see them those kind of pests always come back I'm not sure how I feel about the MC paying for that I would have just ignored it and let the parents handle their own problem while protecting the girl

Money, what can't it solve?
Yeah your typical MC who throws a lot of money problem to show off and get what they want but that wasn't even a problem that either him or her should have had to deal with I would have just let the parents face what was coming to them while protecting the girl

Glad have someone who has the same view on me on this it's typical of MCs who have built up a lot of money to show off more than necessary with giving out money even if it's more than the required makes them look like a big man and isn't he great. This debt wasn't the daughter's responsibility though it was the parents why not just sell them into slavery and be done with it

Sure, let's just give all that money to these sex traffickers and pay off the debts of these abhorrent parents. Let's tell the authorities, even with all the high-end connections... Does the author really think the MC is righteous here? He's just naive beyond belief, like the pushover he is since the very beginning...

Paying off the debt is so beyond stupid, I understand that it's meant to be a flex for the MC but it just lets the parents off consequence free.

Yeah, the correct answer was, "I'll loan you the money to pay them off on the condition you leave your daughter alone forever. If you don't accept my terms, then we're talking to the police about your crime of human trafficking."

I can kinda understand using money instead of force as they would likely come back and try for Karin again when he's not around to claim their 'property'. They've got their money so should be fine with that... aside from that not yet comment which will likely lead the beating they still deserve. That's just the mob guys, the parents should be killed now.

Instantly lost respect for the MC.
Why the actual fuck would he give them money?
To be devil's advocate for the naive MC, he is a walking bank account that still has enough resources to be considered part of Japan's GDP. Him spending money is the easiest method of addressing the problem and he did it in public. If they really wanted to push the issue against him specifically, he has connections and tons of money to spare, so him pissing away a bit of it is no skin off his back.

On top of that, even if they try to carry out a hit on him, that just ends with former yakuza members either killed for failing the job or a mob of yakuza that gets returned to sender because he's still a top ranked adventurer with all of his skills and items. They would need him to regress mentally to infancy to have a chance against him.

From what I gather
She's already their property due to the contract
And he can't fight due to not having the right to do so because he's not an adventurer
So one of the only way out I can see is to buy her back
