Started off strong, quickly lost it, alright ending but it wasn't satisfying. I'd be interested to read a longer version if it ever happens

I expected his death, and wasn’t surprised that he was cut down by a early minor character from the past, instead of the one-eyed son. His choice to make it the final cut is very much like him, seeing how revenge is a fruitless curse and with his death he can end that curse for that woman, and also end his own curse of having to remember those he killed. The merchant’s story adds to the bitter flavor of this manga.

I have to wonder if the people saying this was axed or the ending is bad didn't read the same manga I just did.
This was a perfectly fine ending given the story that it was.

Genuinely surprised at how many people feel the ending was a waste, I felt it was narratively appropriate and wrapped things up well enough after the story kinda lost me a few chapters before the final confrontation(s). Taking the story for what it is I think it's solid overall if a bit rough, the ending left a good impression on me
