Thank you so much for the chapter!
I am so weirdly invested in this relationship between Hotaru and her roommate. She finds a good recipe and just immediately thinks of making it again for Aki. It’s not always about big romantic gestures, it’s the little, everyday things that also convey a lot about what a person means to you.
It's my favourite part of this manga. I'm sure it'll be involved in some drama at a later point (didn't a collegue blush while asking Hotaru if she was going out with someone? That could be out of embarrasement or ...) but I would be a-okay if they just have a happy relationship as a background element. It's very comfy so far.

Well, we made it all the way to the end of volume one, and I'm still really not sure whether or not it's actually teacher/student. On one hand, there are four main characters, and by yuri logic, that must mean two couples. On the other hand, I feel like this chapter shows that Yuna's feelings are just idolization, not actually attraction, and it also seems to set up a personal arc Shiratori outside of her relationship to Yuna. Personally, I'm really hoping this series doesn't go in a teacher/student direction, but I might just be seeing what I want to see. Either way, I think the treatment of Yuna's feelings, both by the story and the characters, is pretty interesting.

I wonder about the possibility of Hotaru/Shiritori. It seems like most people are assuming that Hotaru and Aki are in a happy relationship, or want to be in a happy relationship but something is holding them back, but I wonder if that's not the case. All the flashbacks are, at least to me, tinged with a sense of melancholy, and the series is constantly emphasizing Aki's absence. I wonder if maybe they used to have something, but their relationship has turned stagnant over time, and that's why Aki is away all the time. I find it interesting that the last page of the last chapter of volume one is a spread of Hotaru wanting to reach out to Shiritori, but not being able to. I'm not betting on this interpretation, but I think it's interesting to consider at least.

Thank you for the TL!

The way the story has been sprinkling in little glimpses of Aki and their relationship without ever giving us the full context very much feels like setting up a mystery for a big reveal to me, rather than background character building. So far, Hotaru hasn't really had much of a personal stake in the plot, and I imagine Aki's introduction is going to be the thing to change that. Whatever Hotaru and Aki's relationship and feelings are, I get the impression that their story isn't resolved yet, just stalled for now.

I agree 100%.

When we find out Hotaru and Aki's relationship has some bite to it and isn't them beeing a happily pseudo-married couple with an extreme level of respect and trust that can allow for Aki to be away for long, undertermined amounts of times but still have a place to return home to... that'll be cool.
I'm just saying that if Hotaru and Aki are just a happily pseudo-married couple with an extreme level of respect and trust that can allow for Aki to be away for long, undertermined amounts of times but still have a place to return home to... I'm cool with that too. It's comfy.

Forgot plot I have again, but I'll take multiple Yuri for this day

Ah right... The child
Still clearly not the prompt with no intention of doing the prompt considering she's giving reason as to why it counts, which should be an instant F
If your not putting in some effort for your assignments then it's no fault but your own that your failing for not listening to what you were supposed to do, come on teach, say it's an F
Fucking puuussssssy

Their already weird cause no ones actually done anything about a child's infacuation with an adult, even if you don't actually do anything with it you shouldn't validate it either in ANY way, treat it as something that will pass away with time and don't properly address it if your not gonna help get her out of it
Stop playing favorites

Dammit I'm getting pissed off now, I remember being nicer before hand at least...
So much for that

Huh Aki? Who was aki?
CRAP
I'm just gonna assume thats the roommate from that one good chapter

Huh? HUH? HAVE YOU TOUCHED KIDS BEFOR-
nah I'm not finishing that one, I apologize, that's a bit too rude
I'm rather curious where it goes again now

My interest be flip flop jumping around man
Have a nice day

This is a good one. Can tell it has a few interesting angles to explore.

I'm guessing there's a lot more to Hotaru and Aki's relationship also. Definitely some setup there and I almost get the impression from some of their conversations that there is definitely an internal conflict with Hotaru being a homebody while Aki isn't. And I'm also doubtful of this going the teacher/student route because of the seemingly apparent trauma issue going on. Like Shiratori is forcing herself to talk to Yuna but also not get too close at the same time.

Maybe this will have a setup for Shiratori and Hotaru is the hunch I have :thonk:
