I don't get why people get so worked up about the hypocrisy plot thread. She's a complex person, she might say contradictory things, so what? It's not earth-shattering plot-shattering.

It was brought up just long enough to make them get into a fight... and then nothing. Like, we could have had basically the same theme (Stop MC from treating her like a cat-> MC not happy others treat her like a cat) without making a whole thing about how she categorically hates being treated like a cat by everyone, then abandoning the plotline after MC looks smug for a page or two.

If I see a gun over the fireplace in the first act, I better see it fired in the third.
