Except for the fact that he reasonably didn't react because they are leaving school at the same time to go to the same place ANYWAY, so they'd be walking together whether she asked him to or not. The amount of time they're spending together has not changed.

But yeah, decent advice, given the friends don't know what kind of relationship the two of them already have.

Frankly, all she needs to do is be vaguely sane around him, and engage with him mostly as a friend (with some flirting thrown in to make sure he doesn't forget she's interested in more than just friendship) - she needs to get runs on the board as a (human) friend rather than as a cute kitty, and it'll all probably just fall into place. He's clearly not against the idea of being in a relationship with her, he's just not sure about actually acting on it - if she doesn't manage to drive him away she's good to go, she just needs to be patient.

. . . of course, "be vaguely sane around him" is a bit of a challenge for our cute little Mi-chan . . .

It's good advice from someone that doesn't know the situation. They work together, and "hang out" a lot after school, so it's not like they need more time together... but the friend doesn't know that. BETTER advice would be "Be there for him" Or something along the lines of "Help with his abandonment issues" But... they don't know about THAT either. That's the best advice the friends could give her with the knowledge they have, but it's actually not great advice from our perspective
