Ha, you're all dumb in this comment section. In the Eva anime hand were always the primary symbolism used. Even in the opening they were. Hands can help others when open and reaching, can beg for help the same way. They can hurt others as a fist. Etc. Her enjoying biting shinjis hand and forcing him to do the same is symbolic of how love is choosing to be vulnerable. How the person you love is capable of delivering the worst pain to you. Her forcing shinji to bite her hand is symbolic to asuka consciously putting down her walls. Her recognizing that shinji let her see his vulnerability and she's decided to do the same...
