I believe in the Web Novel, he healed himself and while everyone was freaking out over it he was like "It's fine, there's no damage." Though I think they described it as a shallow wound there. Also when he fought the bear much earlier on, he didn't get swallowed and lose a leg, but instead just cut its head off I believe.

Unfortunately he doesn't really understand how low level the people of this world are either. He does some pretty unhinged stuff and does regret some of it later, however the unhinged shit will continue. I kinda wish the web novel would finish as it shouldn't be too far from the end (maybe?).

As for why the people are so low of level?

Guns (+ Worldwide Adventurer's Guild corruption, but the local guildmaster showcased here is decent). The world pretty much put all their cards in one basket and you need to diversify to learn skills and seriously challenge the dungeons to rank up. Instead they play it overly safe and focus nearly solely on guns, neglecting everything else and technology with guns is shit as the world pretty much never encounters mid to high tier enemies ever. They think the the enemies they can't currently kill are the hardest, which isn't true at all. They're at best mid-tier and currently technology won't even scratch them should they flood out from dungeons.
