Maybe the colleges I've been to were just exceptions (one being too big, and the other being a community college with too wide of an age range), but the idea of this many college-aged people being pressed over one particular woman is laughably unbelievable to me lol.

It feels like the mangaka just wanted to copy and paste highschool mentalities into a college setting.

Not once have i witnessed this kind of mentality throughout my school life, sounds more like it was originally used for a comedic overexaggeration and then copied by every other manga.

It's an engineering department where there are probably many more males than females
