Hmmmm yellow... may be her “disease” is associated with strong emotions, even if they are not reflected openly in the story as to which situation causing emotions are, they are “subjectively” feeling at the important times, I think the author is pointing out to that possibility with very sublime situations, since the main theme (the abundance/absence of colors) that should he the whole setting of this story is kind of lacking, but this is intended.
