I recently learned how to upscale the raws (which are in 800 x 1200) to a higher resolution. I've wanted to do so from the beginning but the only upscalers I could find were AI upscalers, which I obviously refused to use as they would alter the art, which I find disrespectful to the mangaka. But I discovered that clip studio paint, which I use to draw and translate manga, has upscaling built in... and I just didn't know even though I've used it for 8 years...

In my defense, it's not called upscaling in the program, it's called editing image resolution.

Although I didn't really upscale this chapter, what I did was export the pages at twice the size. It was only after I finished the chapter that I found the upscale feature. So next chapter should look better!

I like the attitude of the protagonists here, it feels like their way of life is that while other characters want them to fit into certain tropes they just don't care to entertain their delusions and just do their own thing.

it's gonna be pretty hard to self-insert once you know Satou's backstory, but really the author wanted Satou and the rest of the characters to be seen as actual people living their own lives with their own problems instead of a wish fulfillment self insert character

Yeah, Satou is very, very far away from a self-insert protagonist. If Chinatsu wasn't super pretty it would be a classic shoujo story, actually, considering how much Satou is a catch (there is a hilarious scene related to that that I can't wait to see in manga form).
