The kiss was sweet and all, but I can't help but feel like it's out of place?
Like, who gives a kiss - their first kiss - to someone who not even a minute ago opened up about his family dying and being betrayed by some nondescript rat bastard?

I know it'll be a positive thing in the manga, but realistically the kiss was definitely not appropriate at such a time.

The kiss felt that way at first, but the more I think on it the more I think it fits.

He was about to put himself down hard after telling her about his traumatic experience with his family dying and the other guy being an asshole and spreading that he murdered his sister. Everything made him think he was terrible because no one took his side.

She probably thought that nothing she could say would make him understand that he is NOT what he thinks he is, so she kissed him to make him see that.

Also, her emotions for him were probably overflowing and she couldn't contain herself.

It seemed like a reaction to him putting himself down yet again and she was trying to show him that he's not some worm or a murderer like he thinks he is. And then she realized she shouldn't have done it so she apologizes and leaves. I mean, it checks out to me. I TL'd her line as "is second to no one", but the actual literal TL was "is not Number 2 or a guy like that". So it was a response specifically to his comment and not an unprompted declaration of love.

This chapter hit real hard. I was crying.

Poor kid having to deal with all of that after having seen them all fine a few hours before. Seeing his parents just dead and identifying the bodies and then his sister in that state. I cannot imagine how I would feel if I were in that situation and I am an adult...being a kid would make it even worse.

It's so hard saying if his having his sister taken off life support was the "right" thing to do, but really there is no "right". He chose to not let her suffer and at the end of the day that matters. Is there a possibility she could have somehow woken up and been lucid? Maybe...but what would her quality of life look like if she did happen to wake up? Would she even remotely recover? Would she be in pain all the time? There is one thing to be said: he was NOT a murderer...far from it.

I started reading this because the dialogue felt really natural and the plot seemed interesting but the fact that they both spilled their guts out to each other ,the day they talked for the first time, and now the kiss and she's calling him special or whatever, still the first time they talked, feels too unrealistic.

Now I don't read romance manga for realism, don't get me wrong, but you gotta draw the line somewhere man. If the next chapter doesn't reel it back I'ma have to drop this shit faster than my dad dropped me as a child.

That start was truly a gut wrenching opening. Having the final decision to end your sister's suffering via taking her off life support is something I wouldn't wish on my worse enemy and I hate for the love of the game.

That Kiss at the end, I think this is a new record for the fastest romantic development in a romcom manga. GG depression rizz it is

The professional diagnosis he was given was that her chances of recovery were nonexistent. Forget regaining lucidity, her heart was on a timer and due to give out in a matter of days. Regaining consciousness isn't about to change that. Frankly the alternative is even more terrifying; his sister waking up with days or even hours remaining, all while he knows there's nothing he can do for her while she's in unimaginable, terminal pain...

In fairness they didn't make him make the decision; they were being professional and telling the only available next of kin what her prospects were. He, overwhelmed by everything that was happening, impulsively made the decision he thought would spare his little sister further suffering.
