I foolishly had to look up if graphite was conductive! I can't believe I would doubt their genius. I apologize boys, it won't happen again.

The electrical engineer part of my brain is extremely confused but finds this entertaining, so I gave it a Smith Chart to keep it busy instead.
It's because graphite is conductive, so the lead from a pencil can conduct a bit of electricity (not very well though, since pencil lead also contains a good amount of clay).

Oh yeah I know.
My brain was just in the "but a cross sectional area that small would just glow really bad as the impedance shot up..."

But then again, I specialized in radio frequency, signals processing and encoding.

Too many power guys that it was easier to compete in the weirder side of the field haha.

X-ray's here is like... 10-20$ depending on the hospital. Just how high US charge for that? :kek:
The last time I had to have a chest X-ray, it cost me about 6-7 dollars. Looking it up on Google, it costs about $200-400 in the US for the same service. That's insane.

Reminds me of the anecdote of a nurse whose daughter had to be put on life-saving respiratory measures, got an insane bill from the hospital, and called the bluff by asking for an itemized bill. Turns out, the actual treatment cost was around $80 but they were charged $8000 originally. The bill was dropped completely.

Reality bending that leads to Looney Tunes-tier slapstick.
These two are something.

This is how you can tell they're American. They know they don't have health insurance, haven't figured out it's not a thing, so went "fuck, I guess we're gonna have to do this ourselves."
