Whoa, my dood
@Kaarme there is a misunderstanding on your side. It's a good thing to wear clothes that you are looking good in, emphasysing your strong sides, whether you are man or woman.
Then there is the way the opposite sex percieves it. Compliments can go good way "you look good in that" where both of you know what you are thinking about and it still has good vibes (about you), and there is the bad approach "your boobs are amazing" which means that nothing else is looked at the person (not even the ability to pick a good cloth composition that let you enjoy the view, for example) and gives off bad vibes (about you).
Dood, grills dont like if a male is _only_ looking at their outer appearance, it makes HIM shallow. And discarding shallow people with harsh words is a basic of basics in every life situation, if the male is agitated by that, it means he was a rookie and lost the battle. It may seem hypocrisy from the shamed male's point of view, though, you are right... Maybe the male should grow some brains and learn how to talk "civilised and cultured" so females wont be disgusted with him. By this I mean learn and gain experience.
This is meant for all the idiots should die who say women should not wear clothes they look good in only because they were too retarded to communicate better with said females (both in verbal and nonverbal communication). I mean, for christ's sake, just wear fraking sunglasses if you are such a moron and shut the frak up in front of women.
However, the end part was only a joke about men (ab)using their "last moment" to discard all of their pride (remember, elves dont like speaking in human language), and a woman grinding his teeth at "even in their last moment, they act like men".
It's a quite funny ending of a running gag in this chapter.
