this arc was pretty cliche but i do appreciate the negotiation. video games have enemies fight to the death because it'd be hard to design around anything else. LNs etc. copy this because neither author nor readers are thoughtful enough to expect anything else. they copy tons of game cliches but this one's probably the worst
combat is about morale, will to fight, not level differences and chantless casting. the standard is so incredibly low so i have to be grateful even for this.
