Can't help laugh at these over thinking long comments. It's insightful and thoughtful but the reality is this manga is based on a light novel and it's likely the author could Deus ex machina any B.S. as cannon with no logic what so ever. Attempting to figure out elven birthrates and population demographics seems like a waste of time when the answer could simply be the author pulled it out his ass.

Honestly it doesn't matter how fertile they are. The real question is what their gestation period is. Given they age at a ridiculously slow rate, it wouldn't surprise me to find out that elves tend to be pregnant for 10 years before giving birth.
