He gave Walm the mask a couple of chapters ago as a reward for slaying the Ferrius Kingdom's General (the King's brother). Duwei platoon ran on foot ahead of the Jaff cavalry and stole the kill.

While he was once a japanese person, he was reincarnated to this new world, unlike the 3 heroes who were just transferred there. He now has more stakes in that world and in that war in particular, because he has real family connected to him by blood unlike the 3 who are just like mercenaries who are not part of that world, killing people he truly cared about.
Like just imagine his situation, he was born to a poor farming family, and he joined the war to help alleviate their poverty while here come the 3 isekaijins and being treated as nobilities (i.e. being taken care of by the kingdoms) destroying the world he is now part of. He might just be able to defeat all of them one by one, telling them that they don't even have the right to destroy the world they aren't even a part of.

tbh not really. She hasnt really contributed much to the war effort. The 3 heroes that done his team in are from a different nation that just wants to reap the benefits on a foreign warfront. She's basically only a figurehead for a fallen nation at this point. Out of all the enemy she's the least to blame for what happened to his crew.

It's a VERY slow burn sideplot, but I think sparing her will ultimately be better for Walm much further in the future.

I just hope when it's time for Walm to kill the three heroes, he wouldn't show any mercy or at least don't repeat the cliche mistake the male hero just did: never believe your enemy is dead before you cut their head yourself.
