I mourn the loss of her more than her nephew

For God. She is so nosy! It's depressing to remember that because of her obsession with the occult she will live a relatively lonely life and a terrible death. It would be better if she had just been an investigative reporter (of the living)~
Thks for the tl~

Ough. I truly love his distorted memories of losing his aunt creeping in, how the dismissive attitude of his family around it is wound into the horror for him.
And they're dismissive but also one of them was whispering, "I heard it was Nikubami Honegishimi," at her funeral in the first chapter.

So it's not just that they flat out never believed her, they know something about what killed her.

yeah that adds to the dread a lot. the idea of KNOWING your family knows SOMETHING, and they act as if she did something to deserve it.....

Huh, did he peel off his own nails? Why?
It's the evil slough thing, where you discard stuff like hair, nails, teeth to sever the connection between you and something impure.

A chapter or two ago we saw a flashback where his grandma was cutting his nails pretty severely while a fucked up thing was lurking over their heads.

My interpretation was that he's stuck in a cycle of:

1. Fucked up thing starts following him around.
2. He cuts his nails and maybe does something with them causing the fucked up thing to go after the nails instead of him.
3. Either that thing stops following the nails and comes back OR a new fucked up thing notices him.

Furthermore I'd guess that the nails being bloody is sorta mandatory? Like there's probably a reason he doesn't just use hair.

From the small flashback panels on the same page, it's probably how he warded off the hair curse from the previous chapter. By using/offering it his evil-slough.
It kept saying 'bound' just like the cursing god from the previous case.
