They're gleeful over the thought of Ruck getting kicked out if he loses, but he has already proven that he's vastly superior to the rest of the knights, perhaps even combined. So i think the thing is right now they see someone that has both dishonored them by beating each of them (remember they are crazy) and the dude came out of nowhere with the claim that he is worthy of their great lady.

I'm sure that after the fighting they will finally think about it and realize that yeah he would be a great ally for them to have on their side

I think i can imagine what's like to be spectators here. You come and sit to watch a fight in the arena for the combatants to just fight outside the arena. Like "why would i watch an empty arena?!! Put the goddamn screen out here!!"
