Another possibility is for the Kougetsu people to track down Souichi and hold him hostage against Daichi, after him beating Gaku senseless anyway. Daichi's sensible to some extent, he'll take the deal as long as Souichi isn't beaten up.
It'll be a bit deus ex machina-y, but that way Souichi's character will stay a rat until the end, Daichi will still be daddy's boy and the story can move on to other schools.
