Damn. So it's true here in the manga is highly implied Konoha did indeed took the job unlike the anime where we see doubting about doing it and her ranking going down... I wonder if the author was involved in the desicion of making it ambigous in the anime adaptation, I want to believe Konoha is not THAT cold to do it-

I want to point out something that no one seems to mention, that one time when Konoha killed a woman on the way back and then sent Satoko to turn her into leaves, the explicit detail is that there was ring on her ringfinger, I think... Konoha killed all three, there is no direct proof, but that coincidence doesn't seem like coincidence to me
