What's relation of Ryumatsu to Princess Ryuu?
Either 1) separate souls occupying same body; 2) same soul always (Ryumatsu was Princess' previous life). Previously, based on hints, I thought that it was option 2, but last chapters (starting with shrine maiden) have made it clear that it's option 1.

From this & previous chapter, we're told that ordinarily such dual soul incarnation leads mutual soul canibalization (regardless of any desire to work together or share the body). But... The exception is Ryu's case where both souls are on the brink of death, in which case cannibalization does not occur. (Maybe its only necessary for one soul to be on brink of death, but since both Princess and Ryumatsu were on brink of death, it doesn't matter to us.) Nui's realization, and waking princess's blood vomit makes it clear that trying to slice of Ryumatsu dooms the princess as well.

Ryumatsu has made it clear that Princess will get her body back when he's done.

(IDK how he'll do that, other than 'leave', it's not like he's been repressing her -- she's just been asleep.) He also made sure that she got to see her father before he died. So, he's certainly willing to go and leave her in charge.

Options there are: 1) he leaves; 2) he gets absorbed into her (so she gains his skills/abilities); 3) he stays around but dormant/sleeping like she is now; 4) he's awake, but in the back seat commenting; 5) they coexist, trading control as desired.

Soul compatibility:
It's been hinted before that they have a strong similarity/compatibility. Shrine maiden said as much. Also their reaction to getting accidentally water blasted by Nui was identical.

Usain & Bolt:
There's still a mystery as to who named them. Originally we were told that princess named them when she was young (which would indicated princess is Ryumatsu's reincarnation). But from a comment from Cohen during the Lundberg arc, it's not clear if it was her or someone else who named them.

Who/what reincarnated Ryumatsu?
In first chapter, we get that otherworldly, god like force pushing his heart out (and then we see two hearts, i.e. two souls). I had guessed that it was the Spirit King who did that, based on hints about the Spirit King leaving the sword for some future person. But the current spirit king seems too far gone to have done it.

Other guess is that it's the goddess who did it. And we've had several hints that Ryuu is goddess' avatar or similar. (Shrine maiden saying as much. Lord Jaw also addressing tattoo as goddess.) I've speculated before that the back tattoo/skill tree is the goddess' skill tree.

Lot of stuff happening
  • Spirit King status revealed. Corruption of world tree by spine revealed.
  • Nui upgraded to Spirit King.
  • Relationship between Ryumatsu and Princess revealed.
  • Messed up authority figures. (A frequent, but not constant theme - notably Cradlegrave's authorities were fine.
  • Return of Dark Child.
  • Return of Hex Blade. (Will Ryuu get her hands on it? Probably.)
  • Ryuu's crest (and soul, presumably) repaired. (And upgraded!)

Soon?
  • Dark child ass-kicking immanent. But I doubt she/it will die (yet).
  • Hex blade cured of Spirit King's Hatred emotion?
  • And it seems that hatred was what wounded Princess' soul, so that might solve that problem too.
  • If Nui stays as Spirit King (most likely), it would (probably) be difficult for her to stay with Ryuu.
  • Spine soma manifests and gets destroyed? Or maybe it's only made dormant again?)

Some parts seem to actively contradict each other, and the explanations are poor.

What I gather is that the samsara user is either able to exist as long as the body is on the verge of death, or only becomes a samsara user on the verge of death, and there's no issue healing them in the first place.

Then the other girl used the binding ring to trick Nui, but doesn't want Nui to die and will selfishly beg the MC she just tried to kill.

And the easiest bit is that Nui is healing MC by drawing the blood used to forge the demonic sword back into MC. And I guess that's fine because the piece they killed is already dead, so it's not like it'll unseal anything?
From what i gathered in those last few chapters; Samsara User, refer to people who possess Two Souls.
That can happen, either with both Souls Healthy, or with one Soul at Death's Door...

When the Two Souls are Healthy, the Souls struggle for Dominance/Ownership, and that end up with One Soul devouring the other, ending up with One SOul in One Body (but the Soul devored another....)

But when One Soul at Death's Door instead, the Otherworldy Soul serve as a Bridge/Link between the (Original) Soul and the Body, and if something happen to the Bridge/Link, then Both Souls are Doomed to extinction.... (the case of the Princess here...)
