Yes. I seems that the Demon King couldn't understand nor accept that different people would have different opinions, different tastes, different ways of life, and that at times they would be in discord and fight one another. So he decided that by merging everything into just One Single existence would solve all problems, because then there would be no more discord, no more fighting and no more differences. Thus "saving" everyone.Sooo the demon king was the spirit king s brother but because he sucked at communication, he ended up merging all the spirit king s kids into a giant mass to make things simpler which enraged the spirit king so much that he spent 3000 years trying to build a world tree that could keep his brother sealed, even if it meant sacrificing even more kids. And mc just decided to cut out all that shit and start fresh with a new world tree that isn’t already rotten to the core
I think
Around elves watch yourselvesThe bloody knife ears were to blame for everything after all.
Aren't elves almost always portrayed without any facial hair at all? I don’t remember if we saw any elf with facial hair in this series so it makes sense a evil elf would have a beardSo, the Demon King is an elf with a beard?
I wish I could read this without the constant confusion but at least I'm not alone in that regard
The spirit king saw the error in his ways, so it could be that the demon king also changed his perspective.Chaos is salvation... clearly. Because then we don't have to worry about living together with others, since it isn't like we can when we can't even form coherent thought and are just mindless beasts?
But the Demon King, believing in that, merged with a ball made of, apparently, people significant to the Spirit King in order to become what he has turned into...and also he didn't become a mindless beast himself.
... I know we're likely getting a more elaborate answer on whatever-the-fuck is the Demon King's philosophy later on, but what???
Like, his philosophy can't be that mind melding everyone into one is salvation, because he clearly state that chaos is, and even if the point is melting everything into grey goop where everyone is everything and also nothing, corruption is shown to make people either follow his ideals while still being themselves (and not sharing the Demon King's conciousness nor the conciousness of demons nor other corrupted people around them), or just turn into worse versions of themselves.
Switching topics, I do wonder if the Spirit King is now going to reside within the dark elf as a voice in her mind, or actually just die and pass on.
It’s always been pretty sketch-like during the fightsI really enjoy this series, but I feel like the art has been getting increasingly... not "bad" or "worse" exactly, but messier/sketchier? Or at least harder to parse what's going on? I don't remember having nearly this much trouble understanding what's happening visually in earlier chapters. I think that's contributing to it a lot for me.
Probably the demon king was an egomanic who always had to have his own way. Which resulted in no one wanting to have anything to do with such an asshole. So "stopping discord" is actually "stopping all those other people from disagreeing with me".Yes. Thus "saving" everyone.
Not that the Spirit King was any better, since he ended up fighting his brother's Evil with his own brand of Evil.
