Thought this when I first watched this scene, but these guys acted really mature here. It's cool to see.
one of the reasons i like this manga. it isnt just a boob fest. MC actually has a good friend and they have a good dynamic. love me some good bro moments.

Agree with the above- such an amazing dynamic, when you really think about it. As much as Shu's antics annoy the gang, and me, I realize he's not really that malicious (outside of rare instances like the marathon chapter), and sometimes the stuff he pulls pushes Raku closer to either Chitoge or Kosaki... and maybe sometimes Tsugumi (Seishirou)..?

I'm quite sure he knows his friend's got feelings for both of the main girls, and sometimes he gives them a little nudge.

Anyway... this chapter. I see Ruri noticing something about Shu during the cheering in the classroom. Perceptive girl, that one, as we well know.

And Shu joking about Raku marrying Kosaki knowing it'd tease an entertaining reaction out of the guy. This wasn't him saying it's a sure thing, this was just his trickster energy at work. I'm still quite sure Shu knows Raku likes Chitoge, too, without realizing it, so, in reality, Shu doesn't actually know for sure who Raku will end up marrying, but I guarantee he knows it's either Chitoge or Kosaki, which are both very safe bets. In that way, he knows he doesn't have to worry about Raku finding a life partner, because he has options.

And... the serious conversation. Childhood friends, yeah. I'll be honest, I don't feel like I ever had something like that. I even knew classmates for 9 years through Kindergarten to 8th grade and then even some into high school, but I never stayed in touch with any of them. I could have probably dated any of the girls from those 9 years before high school, too, but... I just wasn't in the headspace for intimate relationships for over a decade past then, to be honest. I went all my youth without knowing the rush of a childhood romance. And even beyond that, I've only really had one relationship in the decade or so beyond, and it lasted only a few years. Shit, started rambling about myself.

Tsugumi continuing to belt out advice that's literally exactly how she feels about Raku being with Chitoge, without Raku realizing that's what it is, because of course he won't get it, and she obviously wouldn't want him to, anyway.

And Ruri just keeps seeing something off with Shu and this whole 'Kyoko-sensei marrying'...

... and right as the chapter ends, Tsugumi comes to Raku with an additional note on that earlier advice... on the 11th hour...
