Oh boy things are heating up, I'd know because I've seen this happen like 300 times.
I'm completely at a loss as to why this is held in such high regards and all I can do is keep marching on in complete bewilderment waiting to come bursting in to the comments proclaiming how wrong I was, it happened with JWWW after all.

I personally liked how this approach to a hot springs scene resulted in the tsundere being the one that was reasonable and does everything she can to hide him. I'm personally not used to seeing that. I thought it was refreshing when I watched the anime that Chitoge was the one actively trying to protect his dignity. Normally it's the tsun that flies off the handle and beats the male lead mercilessly for 'laughs' into the scene transition and shit just moves on more or less like nothing even happened, but here it's being approached like there's legitimate long-term consequences to him being found in the wrong bath. And here Chitoge is, getting a few licks in at her initial surprise but then quickly figuring out the situation and becoming his champion and protector moving forward as more girls arrive.
Sure, hot springs scenes happen a lot, but this particular approach felt novel to me.
