That’s just not in her personality. She’s the kind of character that will continue to bow out like this and remain the shy character hiding in the background until circumstances prompt otherwise, and even then she’ll take two steps forward and then two steps back as she feels she overstepped her bounds. It’s why she’s been losing ground rapidly to Chitoge for awhile now and will be hard pressed to regain it.

Compared to how he’s been in Chitoge’s moments of need, his fondness for Kosaki Onodera has felt like little more than a childish crush, clung to as a vestige of his life before all of this excitement. Kosaki will eventually confess, I suspect, but by that point he‘ll already be seriously considering Chitoge after they have worked out most of their own shit and grown decidedly closer, and the ‘false love’ will have become real.
