Ugh this is taking way to long. I'm sick and tired of the OP over the the top "bad guys" trope. This is probably going to continue for the next 5 chapters if not more. Wake me up when OP is back. Hopefully he'll just kill them in 1 chapter. š”
It's been 1.5yrs since the beginning of this arc, we have not seen the MC since then. This is ridiculous. I don't know why I even bother to read this.... But thanks for the TL anyway.
Either at the end of the coming chapter, or somewhere in the chapter after that.
The manga's pacing isn't really scene-for-scene the same as the WN, but as for all the people complaining about the manga then they should keep in mind that this is an adaption, and the author wrote it all as pure text. It's pretty common with anime originating from a manga, but it's also common for manga artists to take a novel and turn it into a manga. The downside is that there are always things that has to be changed, either removed or added, in order to change the format like that.
But this is exactly like a Hollywood movie made from a book in the western world, and you all should know that it's very often that the movie doesn't hold its weight as well as the book does. Or TV shows, like Game of Thrones originally being books, but then they made a TV show adaption and of course people who read the books will always say that the TV show wasn't as good.
Here's the thing though: Even though the author is credited to the original author, same as with Game of Thrones for example, the adaptions whether it be anime or manga or whatever, are rarely made with the actual author being involved in it more than as an advisory role. It's the writers that are in charge of it, while in the case of a manga adaption from a novel then it's usually the manga artist also doing the writing.
It's typical for licensing agreements and royalties for the adaption, but that's usually as far as that connection goes, with advisory roles more often than not just being a courtesy while the people paying those royalties are the ones with the final say unless the contracts states otherwise.
tl;dr:
It reads much better in the form it was originally written in. It's the manga adaption that's not really holding its weight, which people have already alluded to being connected to the story's progression not being suitable for monthly releases (if even that) and with such few pages.
Seems like the author decided to add a new country as the enemy after the MC annihilated the rulers of the country that originally summoned him and completed the whole point of the manga.
No, the world-building picks up the pace quite a bit after this. It has already built a bit, with that "dream" he had where he met that "god" and Shaon where they told him to go to a magic school as well as do that errand with that message to a woman, as well as the classmates being away from the castle which means they'll appear in the story later.
But the world-building really does pick up the pace quite a lot after where it's now in the manga.
There's also the whole thing about taking Toa home. But the next "point of the manga" so to speak, will become something way more intrinsic to the protagonist.
However, judging by the pace of the manga, it will not be possible for it to catch up to the novel in any sort of realistic time frame. So the manga will either eventually be cancelled, or get way more pages per chapter, or be upgraded to a weekly magazine. Either way, it's simply not possible for it to catch up to the novel the way it is now.
