When Negi said this, I literally thought to myself the next time we see her she's gonna be in a new relationship, isn't she?. I just didn't think it was gonna be the very same chapter

Although her bailing last second is L. Shiet just bring the new gf too--only if she asks of course. Caught me off with gf but she did say you should be spontaneous so I'm not mad at it.

But I do enjoy Negi chapters a lot because she acts as such a stabiliser to Noa’s ridiculousness. I don’t really know how to fully explain it, but she brings this sense of calmness and control that feels really refreshing in contrast to the usual antics.

She doesn’t try to match the chaos—she naturally grounds it, which creates a balance where Noa’s over-the-top behaviour never feels overwhelming. At the same time, it’s not like she’s some deadpan character either—she clearly has fun in her own way, just without being over the top. That contrast makes the humour land better while keeping everything feeling a bit more structured, and honestly, it just makes their dynamic work so much better.

I actually checked and yes, already by chapter 4 and 5 her design changes to a more "baby face" and starts to shows a lot more cleavage and short skirts. The design of the first chapter actually implies someone on her mid 20s that can pass for a competent professional, but then she suddenly starts to dress like a teenager.

Common case of flanderization, but this happens so early in the manga that I wonder if it was some suggestion by the editors.
