These last two chapters did make me feel a little bad for Noa tbh, idk if it was ever mentioned before but to see that she's like this because of her loneliness trauma and her learned helplessness is so so sad to me.

It also sucks that it lead to her trauma responses manifesting in the most annoying ways possible. She acts like a child because she probably didn't get to do so when she was one.

Not that we didn't already know but someone should get this girl in therapy like 18 years ago
Your theory is pretty on point, but it's sad that we the readers need to extrapolate that much to give more meaning to the story. I wish the author would better balance the narrative because for now it's 40% annoying misunderstandings, 40% annoying tantrums, and 20% character development.

With repetitive ecchi on the background.

I mean, idk man, maybe I expected too much from the initial premise but this series really looks like these ecchi 2-panel twitter "manga", stretched thin over 19 pages

It's remarkable that a romantic comedy has gone 116 chapters without even the slightest hint of any romantic developments. It's just 116 chapters of Noa being a mentally unstable basketcase. You can't even call it slow pacing when the main theme hasnt even appeared yet.

But the guy treats her like a friend at best, doesn't seem very attracted to her, looks annoyed by her and justified in being so.
She seems more like a baggage than anything and if that's how things are after 116 chapters, maybe is time to let it go.
Hey if you wanna not read it anymore thats up to you dude you don't owe this series anything

In my professional opinion as a guy, that hug pretty much guarantees that Rihito is cooked. He is absolutely going to be thinking about that hug constantly.

In my not-so professional opinion they really just need to crack and be done with it tbh

Yeah, I guess I'm feeling it myself.
The author made a big deal out of this with a cliffhanger and all but with nothing coming out of this I feel like our time is being wasted. They'll probably decide to move things along when they notice a decline in readership; the most cynical way out of it.

Do we even have access to legal readership numbers to be making that much cynical assumption?

At a certain point you have to look at the story so far and stop expecting actual romance to develop. When you do I think the manga becomes a lot funnier to read.

Nope, not with Japanese publishers.
I guess I'm trying to find a reason why the author is doing it this way, however cynical.

My other guess is the author is treating this like a Newspaper comic; a gag per day without substantial progress while also forgetting that people with BPD are exhausting to be around, whether real or fictional.
