Non-Intrusive Ads… for a Short While

We’re introducing a bit of non-intrusive advertising to help cover operational costs, working only with carefully chosen partners.
Supporters, as always, get to enjoy things ad-free.
Once our expenses are covered, the ads will take a little vacation (hopefully for a long while).

As long as the ad is NOT redirecting me to another website (when I don't even click on it/just by clicking on the BASE website) and starts downloading 'something' in the background, im fine with anything.

I genuinely can't understand this way of doing things... Opening up donations then quickly closing it, only to be scrambling for money in a few months. Constantly changing the method of gathering funds. Why not keep the donation open indefinitely?

Of all the spots you could have chosen for non-intrusive ads, you chose to limit my screen real-estate? I know there's no other choice on mobile, but there's so much empty space to the left and right on desktop. Why not use that instead?

PS: Speaking of "non-intrusive", your support banner is incredibly intrusive. In addition to further limiting my screen real-estate, it also blocks interaction with anything to its left and right. All that surface area I colored in transparent red is unclickable until the modal is closed. That's the opposite of non-intrusive. Please fix that.

Seems to be related to the reason of the ads, because I couldn't subscribe to a self-published author's NamiComi org due to errors with the payment provider... (just speculation, not an official statement)
I just wanted to give 2€/month to "Facets" since the art is just too cute... (⁠╥⁠﹏⁠╥⁠)

Don't want to give companies a better legal reason to shut the place down, like MangaDex is running this site for cash and not for the love of the game.
