I think suicide is seen as more like a tragic accident in Japan in modern times. Might be as a way to gloss over any fault. In the negative way if a family member were kick up a fuss about someone/thing driving them to suicide society can cast them as hysterical and dishonoring the memory of the deceased.i can understand wanting to sweep it under the rug if the 'assailant' was some rich 'elite' with like parents owning/being ceos of a company but you'd think a suicide would be damaging to their reputation too unless they can shift the blame to the parents or like "mental health"/suicide is basically an 'accepted' thing in japan versus like a criminal targeting someone
