There probably is or will be with the web novel, there's currently 73 chapters for it. Haven't read through it though so I'm not sure how much is different or where it stops at. One reviewer mentioned that the author said they were taking a break from the story for the time being though, no clue when they're going to be back or if they will be.

Yeah on re-reading it that plot moves way to fast.

By chapter 8 everything is pretty much okay and good to go. We don't ever really find out why that girl sets him up at karaokee either.
