Well. We have to agree to disagree then. As one experiencing this myself, I can 100% say, "I can forgive, but I won't forget."
even when one of them is gone and the other now feels sorry and like it is finally time to play family again. All I can say is "dw. I already do. but I won't be coming back to that house. I've got my own life, and there's nothing there for me anyway. There are no fond memories there. No one thinks of me as family, only tools to better their image. If you really care, they only call me their family when they brag about my hard-earned achievements." They still call me from time to time. but yeah. life sucks. They may really regret the past. but I won't forget and act as if nothing happens.

I put it in spoilers but the LN opened my eyes to the bad way this series goes

To be fair... most of it was misunderstandings.... and the people at fault was the crowd.

Like they were kids bruv... kids aren't known for bravery and speaking up when the mob is raging.

So it is less he forgave them, and more he began to understand what had actually happened. (like nothing to forgive with the karaoke girl, because she did genuinely invite him, just that the other people there were trash, I doubt MC would have even given her the chance to explain, if you remember he said he didn't even know what her face looked like... which I assume was one of confusion and then trying to explain).

I watched this manga first in 2023, at first it only contain few chapters hoping for more but I did not expect it will be finished by just 19 chapter while re-reading it in 2024.

The ending feel bit rushed, but the story after all is what I'm interested in this manga.

Really good manga, have good character development, people regret and then move on. I like this kind of thing instead of dragging the manga off like keep making people regret and eventually you trying to revenge on that person.

This is the first Manga I’ve ever read, and I LOVED it^^ The story and the characters! And I don’t know if others agree with this, but I’m glad the manga ended like it did. It’s a great ending, and there’s no chance to accidentally ruin something by continuing the story. This ending is great, and I loved it^^

The story prompt is overall terribly delivered; the pacing is written like it was planned for 30+ chapters and decided that absurd time skips and showing nothing but MC being effectively forced into a co-dependent relationship amounting to hiding from their relationships and the real world by going into their own shared space of liking books and hating others.
Time skipping and the literal dialogue confirming that there have been zero interactions with the "wrongdoers" since they've been rendered to self-loathing messes suddenly shifting to "forgiving" them and resuming dialogue despite not actually conversing at all is absurd. (step-sibling was just called "sister," had some arbitrary things said to her dumbfounded face, and was then left alone to cope with being blindsided with a lack of abject hatred)
Leaving the two girls who fucked up as kids aside, the stepmother, who's been trying to reach out the most out of all of them from seeing that he was struggling with something, is just forgotten entirely in the given text.
The context of the source materials and the translations incorrectly getting meanings across mean very little when the foundation screams that the material is designed by a person with a strong case of ADHD, an intense thirst for displaying as much malicious emotional self-gratification as possible, and no actual development of the stories characters other than "time passed with no asshole moments so they're not a ***hat anymore, YAAAAAY!!!"
Do what ya'll want. I've wasted an immensely minuscule amount of my time reading tripe and writing this, and this is just to satisfy my near-anger state of confusion that this has such an absurdly high rating.

This is not a very good manga. If you come here for the romance sure, it's not bad, even though the story is very rushed.

after all that pain the MC suddenly forgives the culprits just because they apologized somewhat.
This is not how traumatized people work. And it's false that one HAS to forgive others in order to move on with their life, especially because these girls didn't really do anything to be forgiven except say they're sorry.
A much more realistic situation is accepting the apology and moving on with your life keeping them out of it.

It feels like the author wanted to go for drama and has no clue whatsoever of how it feels to have been through much suffering due to bullying, bad rumors and the like. So let's all follow what society expects and forgive everything, yay!

He has no obligation to forgive and forget their action while they were still abusing him AND has the audacity to demand his forgiveness up until the second volume. Nah fuck that.

In last chapter I feel like it's kinda empty, like there's still other issue about those girls.
It's not like the mc just apologize/help those girls makes the issue completely ended. I'm just flustrated about the manga ended;-;
And it just ended like that like something is still missing, but wonderful/wholesome ending.
But still, I appreciate to the author for creating such a wonderful manga!
