I follow that magical girl manga from the crossover, and a new chapter came out here two hours after this did. Weird.
It's nice to see references to a game that I've actually heard about, even if I haven't played it. The atmosphere of this story is always nice too.

Gears of War was surprisingly popular in Japan. The game was one of the few Xbox 360 games to crack the top ten in weekly Japanese game sales (besides the Mistwalker RPGs Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey.) The 360 sold 1.5 million units in Japan, which ain't half bad. It's also miles ahead of the Xbox One, which hasn't broken 100k yet in Japan.

There was another manga I read where an omake described the mangaka being obsessed with Gears. I can't remember what it was called
