I don't think we'll be seeing "decent" comics from AI soon. Simply because AI has so many issues with posing the character in any sort of dynamic way, or with being reasonably consistent.
The guys out there playing with AI seem to roughly put together one solution, but those solutions make what's meant to be an easy quick process that much more complicated and cumbersome.
Not to mention, there are skills in making comic that aren't based solely on drawing. Has anyone read an AI comic? Utterly terrible, and frustrating to read. It flowed so poorly, and was made mostly of environmental shots. Terrible.
Honestly, I'm not sure how to feel about AI. I worry that there will be no true great art created anymore, as we'll all be happy with the recycled dribble AI churns out for us, and how could we expect anyone to great great art for us when all the money in the arts dries up thanks to AI? We'll culturally stagnate terribly, there'll be no new amazing cultural phenomenons, no new trends, as everything just passes within the day.
On the other hand, everyone will be able to create something with how simple AI can make it... yeah, that's the only good point I can think of.
