Because Mangakas have no idea how to write antagonistic characters acting a stepping stone for MCs, without making them completely brain rot.

I read ahead a little, and I'm not so sure about this since I don't actually read japanese... But I think it has been foreshadowed. Let's just say that the discrimination goes both ways from both parties of swordsman and mages.

But that has nothing to do with the teacher's actions regarding mc? Remember that all teacher (a mage) knows about mc, is that mc is recommended as a prodigious mage by another prodigy mage and backed by her house. So saying that the teacher dislikes mc because the teacher is a swordsman, seems incorrect (he's not a swordsman).
